Comparison of metal deck topped with either regular concrete or 110 pcf lightweight concrete vs. EICRS
The concrete systems provide high shear resistance, fire rating, but at a considerably greater weight.
EICRS provides required insulation value Fire Rating and less weight - only 8 psf.

The difference in cost more than compensates for the heavier gauge steel that may be required.
Remember - with B deck EICRS can stiffen deck and provide high shear values (ICBO 3081). Conclusion - High insulation value, comparable fire rating and low weight will provide an overall savings.
