    Designing an Effective Cricket for Slope to Drain

    To maximize the slope to drain, the cricket should be an isosceles triangle (45 degrees) - that is the distance from the drain to the cricket ridge is equal to the distance that the cricket intersects the roof slope. This maximizes the thickness of the cricket and therefore the slope on the hypotenuse.

    Making a shallow cricket, even if it is sloped in excess of the basic roof slope does not affect the slope on the hypotenuse. Note:

    Any slope below .150 is inadequate and will result in puddles in the fall line - and subsequent damage to the W.P.M.

    Do not design shallow crickets!

    Demand deep effective crickets!

    Do not accept shallow crickets!
