Davidson Middle School Project

To address the interstitial space between the foundation and the topping slab, a lightweight fill was required. The chosen material needed to be versatile and efficient, especially given the utilities running through the interstitial space and tight schedule.

Cellular concrete flowable fill Class III was selected for its ability to perform where traditional fills, including other lightweight options, would face challenges—particularly in confined areas where compaction is difficult.

The result? A seamless backfill operation that eliminated the need for heavy machinery, ensuring the project remained on schedule.
