LOCATION: Topeka, KS
The Project
In this construction project for Kansas DOT in the state capital, an existing Reinforced Concrete Box (RCB) culvert was filled with flowable fill material. The process involved placing the material at one end of the culvert, allowing it to flow freely for about 120 feet to minimize disruption to the road above. A total of 1,900 cubic yards of Class I cellular concrete will be used, ensuring the necessary strength to support the existing roadway while avoiding the expensive and disruptive process of demolishing the current structure.
PROJECT TYPE: Lightweight Cellular Concrete, Transportation
