The Project

The North Texas Municipal Water District Project consists of the installation of a new pipeline and remove/abandon the existing pipeline. Cell-Crete Corporation was subcontracted to provide grout (Lightweight Cellular Concrete) for the annular space between the casing and carrier pipe for 15 sections, approximately 2,005 LF total. The longest running section was 400 LF. We also provided grouting services to abandon approximately 6,000 LF of the existing pipeline. The total volume poured for both scopes of work was 1,622 CY.

The Solution

Most of the annular space grouting for sections and abandonment was completed within days of the pipelines becoming available for grouting.

Due to accessibility issues in installing additional grout ports for the existing pipeline, Cell-Crete grouted approximately 2,000 LF existing pipeline without utilizing intermediate grout ports.

The annular grouting was completed in singular lifts for all casing pipe sizes ranging from 72-inch to 35-inch nominal diameter and carrier pipe sizes ranging from 48-inch to 20-inch.
